Nature Talk and Draw - Freshwater Habitats

manual override of alt text
East Street, Rhayader

Learn about your local Freshwater Habitats, and then draw their many fascinating occupants. No artistic ability required!

Professor Fred Slater is currently an Honorary Senior Research Fellow in the School of Biosciences, Cardiff University. He has worked as a campaigner and broadcaster on many national and international publications, has published two books on freshwater habitats, and contributed to many more, as well as a 36 year directorship at the Llysdinam Field Centre, which has achieved internationally significant studies and field work on otters and white-lipped mussels. These are the species the talk will focus on, as well as the rare and endangered white-lipped crayfish.

Suitable for ages 12 & up.

The drawing session is led by talented local artist Sorell Matei who is warm, supportive and will help you create something you love.

We will do a few warm-up exercises before diving into a longer session, so you can experiment around. No previous knowledge necessary! You will surprise yourself by the end of the day. You will be supported as you create something wonderful to take home.
