After a short period of instruction and practice you will be amazed at how how easy it is to paddle these boats. We will then head off for a journey around the reservoir stopping regularly for a rest and to hear about some of the fascinating history of the valley and its dams.
Don’t miss out on this exciting opportunity to paddle through the gorgeous natural setting of Mid Wales and the Cambrian Mountains, and the quiet beauty of the Elan Valley.
It’s the perfect family-based activity for those of you who enjoy adventure on your holidays.
Continuing with social distancing guidelines we are taking bookings for a full kayak rather than individual seats. Kayaks can only be shared by people from the same family or social bubble. Because of the size of the boats single occupancy is only available for people over 14 years of age otherwise its suitable for 8 to 80 year olds! Under 18s must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
Meet at the activity site at the Sawmill at the start time, 10.00 for a morning session, 14.00 for an afternoon session. Directions are given on your booking confirmation.
We are not planning on falling in but a change of clothes, spare footwear and a towel are advised. You will get wet feet and probably a soggy bottom.
Due to the physically demanding nature of the activities run by Elan Valley Lodge all participants must be reasonably fit and healthy. For kayaking this means having sufficient mobility to get in and out of the kayak, and also the core strength to sit upright for a sustained period with minimal back support. Any health concerns must be discussed with the Instructor prior to arrival.
Please bring suitable footwear that you don't mind getting wet and muddy!
Sole use of a Kayak (Over 14’s) £40
With two people in a kayak £60 (£30 per person)
