Welcome to the magical adventure of Astro-cycling! You don’t have to be an experienced mountain biker – you just need a bike with off-road tyres, suitable lights and a helmet – and a sense of adventure to do something out of the ordinary! What you can expect: • Meet and greet at dusk at Nantgwyllt church car park. Check bikes and lights and a short safety briefing. • Cycle along the Cwm Elan Trail alongside the reservoirs in the fading light and into the sunset to reach a memorable spot to view the night sky in all its glory. • Dark Sky stories and guidance on what you see. • Dafydd will unveil his smart telescope giving you a chance to see deep space objects and take some incredible photos to take home with you. • An optional short off-bike hike to the Alyn Wallace art installation. • Hot chocolate and goodies to warm the cockles before heading back to the start point – now in total darkness; a thrilling way to heighten all your senses. • We will be out for around 3 - 4 hours, depending on the temperature and what we can see. • £50 a head to include some treats from local suppliers.
